Idilic summer days are here at last.
JK! Welcome to the wacky world of try-to-cram-in-as-much-as-we-possibly-can-in-the-three-short-months-of-break!
I mean seriously. Remember how you said things like "I'll do that over the summer" or "Well, just wait until summer. Then I'll have plenty of time for that!"

FOOLS! YOU HAVE LIED TO YOUR SOULS!
Right now, I'm only a couple weeks into break and I'm already starting to go "where did the time go?"
But at the same time, it's helping me rest. Because it's interesting. It's a break from routine. And frankly, it's all stuff I WANT to be doing. Whether it's painting metal buckets to look weathered, or sorting audition forms for my internship, or editing videos, or even writing blog posts--it's all interesting. And it's DIFFERENT.
I guess the point is that, like with most of life, there is a balance. Like Chiaroscuro Sun said, life is rarely black and white. More often it's filled with all sorts of shades of gray and colors. So this summer I challenge you, our readers, my fellow Purple Minds, and myself, to find that balance. Go do 2,874,000 projects. Stay up late working. Push yourself to the extreme. In the words of my mother, "Only boring people are bored." Don't bore yourself. But at the same time, don't be afraid of rest. Don't be afraid of doing something just for fun, even if it isn't necessarily "productive." The point of summer is to detox yourself.
Not the deepest thought, but one I felt like I needed to say. Have fun, be busy, but don't forget to stop and eat the Popsicles along the way.Keep singing, and try not to die. Make a big ripple in the world.
